About the role
Reporting is where a messy Jira configuration shows. You work with consultants to fix the data at its source, then build the queries and dashboards on top of it.
Most of the work is SQL against the Atlassian Data Lake, plus the conversations that decide what a metric should mean.
What you will do
- Write Spark SQL against the Atlassian Data Lake
- Build dashboards in Atlassian Analytics for delivery, service and portfolio reporting
- Define metrics with the people who will use them
- Find data quality problems and trace them to their cause
- Document each dashboard's sources and definitions
What you bring
- Two or more years writing SQL for reporting or analytics
- Experience with a BI tool such as Atlassian Analytics, Power BI, Tableau or Looker
- A working understanding of Jira's data: issues, sprints, workflows and fields
- The patience to agree on a definition before building a chart
- Clear written English and Spanish
Good to have
- Apache Spark SQL experience
- Experience with Jira Align or portfolio reporting
- Python for data work
