Troubleshoot incoming mail with connectivity logs

Jira now has a connectivity log for each incoming mail server, showing connection results and failure reasons. It is coming soon to Atlassian Cloud.

What it is

Improvement

Admins can open a log for any incoming mail server and see whether Jira reached it. Failed attempts list a reason, and identical results are grouped into one entry with a retry count and timestamps. The log does not change how Jira fetches mail.

Admins

Jira admins can check each mail server's connection history themselves, from Incoming mail settings, and entries are kept for 45 days.

Written from Atlassian's release note and checked against it automatically. Atlassian's original stays the source of truth.

Before it lands

  1. Open Settings, then System, then Incoming mail, and select View logs for a mail server.
  2. Check the Connectivity log tab when incoming mail stops creating work items or comments.

What changed

  1. Added to Atlassian's release notes as coming soon

Atlas Bench began tracking Atlassian Cloud on 29 Oct 2026. Changes before that date are not in this history.

Fixed scope. The assessment reads the estate as it is: instances, schemes, licensing, and the decisions a migration would force you to make anyway. You get the findings, the ownership gaps, and the order to close them in.
