This notice explains what Atlas Bench LLC collects when you use atlas-bench.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers this website and the email we send from it. Work we do for customers is covered by the agreement we sign with them, not by this notice.

Who we are

Atlas Bench LLC is a services company. We design and run Atlassian and identity work for other organizations. We are the company responsible for the information described here.

To reach us about anything on this page, use the Talk to an architect door on our contact page and put privacy request in the message. That is the route we watch, and it is the one that gets an answer.

What we collect

What you send us. Our forms ask for your first name, last name, work email, company, and whatever you write in the message field. Nothing on the form is required beyond those fields, and you decide what to put in the message.

What your browser sends. When you read a page, our analytics record the pages viewed, the site or search that sent you, your approximate location from your IP address, and the browser and device you used. That happens through HubSpot, which runs this website.

What happens to our email. If you are on a list, our email tells us whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, so we can tell what is worth sending and stop sending what is not.

We do not ask for payment details on this site, and we do not collect special categories of personal information such as health or biometric data.

Why we use it

• To answer you. If you fill in a form, we use your details to reply and to have the conversation you started.
• To send what you asked for, such as an assessment or a piece of writing.
• To follow up by email about our work, when you have agreed to that.
• To understand which pages are read and which are ignored, so the site gets better.
• To keep records of enquiries and agreements, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

Where the law asks for a legal basis, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies and marketing email, on our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries and running the site, and on our legal obligations for records we must keep.

Cookies and your choices

A cookie banner appears the first time you visit. It sorts cookies into groups: the ones the site needs to work, analytics that count page views, functional ones that remember your choices, and advertising ones if we ever use them. Only the necessary group is on before you choose.

Every cookie this site sets is listed by name on the cookie policy, with what it does and how long it lasts. That page is generated from the same file a check runs against a real page load, so it cannot quietly go out of date.

You can change your choices at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page, which reopens the banner with your current answers showing, and you can clear cookies in your browser. Turning analytics off does not change what you can read here.

Who else sees it

We use HubSpot to host this website, store enquiries, and send email. HubSpot processes the information on our instructions. We also use ordinary business tools for email and file storage.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it with a supplier only where they need it to do something for us, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as it's needed for the purpose you gave it to us: to answer an enquiry, to run the assessment you asked for, or to send you email you subscribed to. When there's no longer a reason to hold it, or when you ask us to delete it, we remove it.

Two things outlast that, and only these two: records we are required to keep for legal and tax reasons, for as long as the law says, and a record that you unsubscribed, because the only way to keep not emailing you is to remember that you asked.

Where it is held

We are a United States company and the tools we use store information in the United States. If you write to us from outside the United States, your information will be handled there.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link at the bottom of the message, and that takes effect straight away. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including the right to complain to a regulator.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, use the Talk to an architect door on our contact page, put privacy request in the message, and say what you are asking for. We may ask you to confirm something only you would know, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else, and we answer inside 30 days.

Children

This site is meant for people working in and buying business software. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Access to enquiries and analytics is limited to the people who need it, through accounts tied to our identity provider with single sign on and two-factor authentication. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if something happens that puts your information at risk and the law requires us to.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to you, we will say so on the site rather than leave you to find it.
