About the role
The estates you work on have history: years of custom fields, duplicate workflows and permission schemes nobody can explain. You read that history, work out what it was for, and design the version that should replace it.
You lead the technical side of the work with customer stakeholders, and you coach the consultants working alongside you.
What you will do
- Assess existing Jira and Confluence configurations and write the target design
- Lead workshops with directors and platform owners, and hold the design when priorities pull on it
- Plan the consolidation of projects, schemes and custom fields without breaking reporting
- Review other consultants' configuration work before it ships
- Write the governance model that keeps the estate clean after the work ends
What you bring
- Five or more years designing Jira configurations for large organizations
- Deep knowledge of Jira Cloud permissions, schemes and automation
- Experience leading workshops with senior stakeholders and writing the design they sign off
- Judgement about when to standardize and when a team genuinely needs something different
- Clear, direct written English
Good to have
- Atlassian certifications in Jira or Confluence administration
- Experience with Jira Align or the Atlassian Strategy Collection
- A background in software delivery or IT service management
