A ScriptRunner Developer writes the Groovy and JavaScript that extends Jira beyond what configuration can do, and rewrites it when it has to move to Cloud. At Atlas Bench you build new automation and convert the Data Center scripts that customers still depend on.

About the role
Plenty of Jira estates run on scripts nobody has read in years: listeners, post functions, behaviours and scheduled jobs. You find out what each one does, decide whether it is still needed, and rebuild it where it is.
Cloud plays by different rules, so much of the job is knowing which Data Center pattern has a Cloud equivalent and which needs a new design.
What you will do
- Inventory and document existing ScriptRunner scripts, listeners and behaviours
- Rewrite Data Center scripts for ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud or native automation
- Build new automation for workflows, fields and integrations
- Test scripts against realistic data before they run in production
- Write down what each script does and who depends on it
What you bring
- Two or more years writing ScriptRunner scripts in Groovy
- JavaScript for ScriptRunner behaviours or the Jira Cloud REST API
- A good understanding of Jira's data model: issues, fields, workflows and permissions
- Care with production changes, and the habit of testing first
- Clear written English
Good to have
- Experience with Jira Automation at scale
- Jira Service Management scripting
- Java experience
