What it is
Improvement
Atlassian Rovo MCP Server now includes Jira Align toolsets. Connected AI tools can discover available scopes and run read and write actions against linked Jira Align instances. Access is still governed by existing Jira Align permissions.
People using approved AI tools can work with Jira Align data from those tools, within the permissions they already have in Jira Align.
Admins turn on the read_jira_align and write_jira_align toolsets in the Rovo MCP permissions and give approved users the MCP v2 connection address.
Four new tools are available: listJiraAlignItems, getJiraAlignItem, createJiraAlignItem, and updateJiraAlignItem.
Written from Atlassian's release note and checked against it automatically. Atlassian's original stays the source of truth.
Before it lands
- Open Administration, then Rovo, then Rovo MCP, and confirm Atlassian supported domains are enabled.
- Enable the read_jira_align and write_jira_align toolsets on the Permissions tab.
- Give approved AI tool users the MCP v2 connection URL: https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp.
- Tell users to sign in with OAuth and pick the Atlassian Cloud site linked to their Jira Align instance.
